Websites for medical practices and therapists: trustworthy, clear, legally sound
What a practice website for doctors, dentists, physio- and psychotherapists needs: consultation hours, services, team, online appointments and special legal points.
Patients don't look for advertising online, they look for orientation: am I in the right place, when are you open, how do I get an appointment? A good practice website answers exactly that, calmly and trustworthily.
What belongs on a practice website
- 01
Consultation hours and availability
Up to date, including holidays and cover, clearly visible on every device.
- 02
Services explained clearly
Factual and jargon-free: what's treated, how does it work?
- 03
Team and practice
Photos and short introductions build trust before the first visit.
- 04
Appointments and directions
Online booking, phone, address, accessibility, parking and public transport.
Special legal points
- Advertising for health professions is restricted, e.g. by the Heilmittelwerbegesetz and professional codes: no promises of cure, factual presentation
- Mandatory imprint details, e.g. responsible chamber, professional title and supervisory authority
- Health data is specially protected: contact and booking forms should only ask what's necessary and transmit securely
- Reviews and before-and-after images are only allowed to a limited extent, depending on the field
Accessible and easy to read
Many patients are older or read on their phone. Large, high-contrast text, clear navigation and a site that works with screen readers aren't extras here, they're essential. Since June 2025 the German Accessibility Strengthening Act also sets binding requirements for certain digital services.
