Websites for tradespeople: what they need so jobs come in
Electrician, painter, plumber or carpenter: what a trades website needs so customers call. Services, service area, reference photos, enquiries from a phone.
Trade businesses often have full order books, but not necessarily the right jobs. A good website makes sure the right enquiries come in, and that prospects know what you can do before the first call.
What customers look for on your site
- 01
What exactly do you do?
Clear service pages instead of one long list: bathroom renovation, electrical installation, facades …
- 02
Do you come to me?
Your service area with places, e.g. Karlsruhe, Ettlingen, Bruchsal.
- 03
Are you good?
Real before-and-after photos of your work, reviews, master certificate or certifications.
- 04
How do I reach you?
A tap-to-call phone number, a short enquiry form, WhatsApp if you like.
Common weaknesses
- Phone number only in the imprint
- No photos of own projects, only stock images
- No service area: Google and customers don't know where you work
- A form with ten required fields nobody fills in on a phone
More than a business card
Small digital helpers often pay off for trades: an enquiry form with photo upload for damage, a careers page for skilled workers, or a simple callback request. Every enquiry that arrives with all the info saves a phone call.
